Kitchen appliances must be maintained to prolong its lifespan. This will spare you from spending much money to buy new ones. 

There are easy steps to maintain them. Simply, observe these steps regularly to make your kitchen appliances run smoothly. Besides, you can use them for a longer period. Here are some of these ways:

1. Do not put hot objects in your refrigerator.

Your refrigerator will slow its performance when you put hot foods or pans. It will affect the temperature of your refrigerator. Cool down first the hot objects before preserving them in the refrigerator. 

2. Clean regularly the kitchen appliances

Do not miss cleaning your kitchen appliances regularly. These include the oven, refrigerator, microwave, hood, dishwasher, and toaster, among others. 

And make sure that you are using the right cleaning materials for each appliance. As much as possible, clean them once each week. 

3. Clean the condenser coil of the refrigerator

The unclean condenser coil is often the main reason why the refrigerator would not run or become damaged. You must clean or vacuum the condenser coil from time to time. Remove the dust from the condenser coils efficiently.  

4. Do not slam the doors

Never slam the doors of your refrigerator, oven, and microwave, among others. The doors might break. In this case, you have to spend for the repair of the doors

5. Use stove covers

Stove covers are helpful in maintaining your stove. You can easily remove the dirt, grease, and dipping sauces. Hence, they can make your stove clean and has optimum performance. 

6. Use the dishwasher properly

Clean the dishwasher with the right cleaning tools regularly. Also, remove and clean the filter occasionally. Make sure that there are no utensils or silverware that blocks the spray arms before running the dishwasher. 

Close the cover of the main compartment of the dishwasher before you shut its door. Also, check the float switch and make sure nothing blocks it. Check the hose too from time to time if it is clogged. You will know it is clogged if there is still water after the cycle is completed. 

7. Do not overload the dishwasher

Overloading can break the motor and other parts of the dishwasher. Make sure that you fill up the dishwasher with the right quantity of dishes and utensils. 

8. Remove the stinky smell of the refrigerator

To remove the stinky smell in your refrigerator, use a newspaper and about 12 charcoal briquettes. Crunch up the newspaper and place it in the shelves of the refrigerator. You may spread the smash charcoal on the tray and place them inside the refrigerator. These things will absorb the smell of your refrigerator. 

9. Clean the door gasket of the refrigerator

Often times, you forget to clean the gasket of your refrigerator. Dirty door gasket may damage it and affects the performance of your fridge. Your door fridge will not be sealed properly if the door gasket is not clean. Use warm water and sponge in cleaning the door gasket of your refrigerator. Avoid using detergents as these may damage the door gasket.

10. Clean the electric cable of the stove

The electric cable of your stove is often overlooked. Keep in mind that you have to clean it always and remove the dust and grease on it. If neglected, this may cause damage and fire as well. You may use a wet cloth in removing the dust and dirt on the cables. 

Kitchen appliances must be well taken care of, so you can use them in a longer period of time. In one instance, you notice they are not running properly, you may call an appliance technician right away to inspect and fix them so that the damage will not get worst. This will spare you from inconvenience and save you money from buying new appliances.
