What distinguishes gas hobs from the others is its heat function to be switched from high to low in just a matter of seconds. Aside from that, the temperature is considerably more manageable. Gas on Glass Hobs

A gas on glass hob, as its name suggests, is a set of hobs on top of a ceramic glass. Its purpose is more for the aesthetic than the function. The smooth surface makes it more fashionable, modern, and easier to clean than a more elaborate regular gas type.
Its usage is actually quite similar to other hobs such as the gas hob as the gas provides a more readily regulated heat source than an electric ceramic hob.

Unusual Gas Flames

The flames on a properly functioning gas stove should be blue and stable. It’s possible that there’s debris in the gas burner or jets if the flames on the stove are less than usual, yellow, or uneven.

Smelly Gas

You should not smell gas when cooking just because you have a gas stove. You may have a gas leak if the smell of gas is higher than usual when you turn on your stove. If levels rise above a safe level, a natural gas or carbon monoxide detector will sound an alarm.

Of course, you should never rely only on your gas detector alert, and if you notice a strong and persistent gas odor, open your windows and doors to let fresh air in, switch off any lights, and avoid lighting a match or lighter.

Sparker Issues

There are a few problems that could be causing your hob to not light. To begin, make sure that gas is flowing through to your stove; you should be able to hear it. Turn off the hob and contact your gas supplier if no gas is flowing through. Many ignitions require mains electricity, so if your gas stove isn’t lighting, make sure it’s plugged in.

The igniter may be dirty if the gas is coming through to your cook-top and the mains switch is turned on. Use an old or spare toothbrush to clean this area of your cooker. Small bristles are ideal for getting into tight spaces.

Uneven Flames / Heat

Most gas stoves and cook-tops come pre-programmed for natural gas. If the flames on the burners or in the oven are excessively high (for example, contacting or above the grate) or uneven, the range or cook-top may have been wrongly converted from natural gas to LP (Liquid Propane).

Some induction cooker hobs, due to wear and tear, face the same problem. If there is an uneven heat from the induction hob, the control panel should be checked!

My home microwave (Turbo Incanto) broke down and initially i was sceptical to call for a home repair service! Thankfully, I found a reliable microwave repair service in Yeobuild. Their technician, Mr Syafiq came down at the appointed day/time and gave sound advice on the job scope after checking my microwave (heating system failed). Initial $60 fee was waived and all-inclusive $190 fee paid for repairs, transport, delivery, installation, spare parts, etc. No hidden charges and fees are transparent as quoted by Mr Syafiq. Job completed in 3 days with Invoice (cash payment) and Job Report emailed to me promptly. Thank you for the excellent service. Highly Recommended.

I've used yeobuild three times - for my wine fridge, washing machine and oven. All three times, the items were repaired professionally and in a timely manner. No idea if it is good value as I didn't compare prices, but I appreciate the prompt appointments, straightforward price quotes and follow ups. Will continue to use them and recommend to friends.

UPDATED post follow up: Service team returned call and fixed an appointment readily for next day as promised. Both fans are in good working condition 🙏🏻 Hope that YeoBuild can be impeccable in all aspects going forward, not solely zoomed in just for new accounts. Will return for other repairs and services if need to! Initial appointment was set up fast but received many calls for new slot allocation to fix on 1. Handyman is good and professional, mentioned that for follow up of capacitor replacement, the team will be in touch soon once we make payment for the new units. The ones he has did not fit ours hence the follow up appointment is required. Right after the first trip, email summary and invoice came for follow up. But no one reached out to give status nor make appointment for the expected service for replacement. Its been 2-3 weeks. I called once and they mentioned will check exact and lmk, still no updates so far.
